Published: 09/16/2026 (09/16/2026, 21:32:53 UTC)
Source: CVE Database V5
Vendor/Project: goharbor
Product: harbor

Description

Harbor through 2.15.2 fails to properly restrict the q query parameter filtering on scanner registration access credentials. Project administrators can exploit fuzzy filtering on the AccessCredential column to recover the scanner adapter secret one character at a time through response row counts.

Technical Analysis

Harbor through version 2.15.2 does not properly restrict the 'q' query parameter filtering on scanner registration access credentials. This flaw enables project administrators to exploit fuzzy filtering on the AccessCredential column to incrementally recover the scanner adapter secret by analyzing response row counts. The vulnerability is identified as CVE-2026-92770 with a CVSS 4.0 score of 7.1, indicating a high severity issue. It requires low attack complexity and no user interaction but does require project administrator privileges.

Potential Impact

An attacker with project administrator privileges can extract sensitive scanner adapter secrets by exploiting the fuzzy filtering mechanism on the AccessCredential column. This exposure of sensitive information could lead to further compromise of scanner components or unauthorized access to scanning capabilities within Harbor.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until an official fix is available, restrict project administrator privileges to trusted users only and monitor for suspicious use of the 'q' query parameter in scanner registration requests.
