A fix for this vulnerability is available and has been applied to the affected linux-hwe-edge kernel versions. Users should update to the patched versions listed to remediate the issue. No additional mitigation steps are indicated by the vendor advisory.

Description

A use-after-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel's drm/msm/adreno driver was fixed in the a6xx_gpu_init() function. The issue occurs because the a6xx_destroy() function frees the a6xx_gpu structure, leaving adreno_gpu pointing to freed memory. The fix preserves the error code before freeing memory to prevent use-after-free. This vulnerability affects specific versions of the linux-hwe-edge kernel.
