AI-suggested
A fix is available and has been applied in the Linux kernel source code as indicated by the fixed commit hashes. Users and administrators should update to the patched Linux kernel versions that include these fixes. Since this is a kernel-level vulnerability, applying the official kernel updates is the recommended mitigation. No additional vendor advisory states that no action is required or that the issue is already mitigated otherwise.
Description
CVE-2026-93079 is a high-severity vulnerability in the Linux kernel's cxl/features component. It involves an out-of-bounds heap write caused by improper validation of a user-controlled count parameter against the output buffer size. This flaw allows a heap buffer overflow when the count exceeds the allocated buffer size. The issue has been fixed by rejecting requests where the count exceeds the available payload before allocation.
