A fix is available that validates the length of the rate list before storing it and corrects memory management during parsing. Users should apply the updated Linux kernel versions that include this patch. No additional mitigation is required beyond applying the official fix.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel USB gadget audio function (UAC1 and UAC2) allows out-of-bounds writes when parsing rate-list attributes. The flaw occurs because the kernel does not validate the length of the comma-separated sampling rate list before storing it in fixed-size arrays, potentially leading to memory corruption. This has been resolved by adding validation to reject excess tokens beyond the maximum allowed entries and correcting memory management during parsing.
