AI-suggested
A fix is available that rejects rdonly_buf_size and rdwr_buf_size kfunc arguments exceeding the 32-bit unsigned integer maximum during verification. Users should apply the official Linux kernel updates that address this issue in the affected versions. Since this is a kernel vulnerability, upgrading to a patched kernel version is the recommended remediation.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's BPF subsystem was resolved that involved improper handling of kfunc arguments named rdonly_buf_size or rdwr_buf_size. The kernel did not properly bound these arguments when their values exceeded the maximum 32-bit unsigned integer, leading to incorrect memory size handling in the verifier. This could cause the verifier to accept a pointer with an incorrect memory size, potentially leading to security issues.
