A fix is available that extends the loop limit to cover all XCCs, preventing null pointer dereferences. Users should apply the updated Linux kernel versions that include this patch. Since this is a kernel-level issue, upgrading to patched kernel versions is the recommended remediation.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's AMDGPU driver related to the MES (Micro-Engine Scheduler) component was fixed. The issue involved an insufficient loop limit for multi-XCC (Compute Complex) GPUs, causing some array entries to remain uninitialized. This could lead to null pointer dereferences when accessing arrays indexed by XCC ID greater than or equal to 2. The fix extended the loop to cover all XCCs, preventing these null pointer dereferences.
