AI-suggested

A fix is available that corrects the argument restoration order in the syscall trace path. Users should update to a patched version of the linux-hwe-edge kernel that includes this fix. Since this is a kernel-level issue, applying the official kernel update from the vendor or distribution is the recommended remediation.

Description

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's syscall trace path for the C-SKY ABIv2 architecture caused incorrect restoration of the 5th and 6th syscall arguments during ptrace syscall tracing. This led to corrupted syscall arguments for traced syscalls using these arguments, such as mmap2(), causing failures in traced processes. The issue was fixed by correcting the order of loading these arguments from pt_regs before adjusting the stack pointer.
