This issue has been fixed in Linux kernel versions 6.1.118, 6.6.157, 6.7.11 and later, 6.8, 6.9, and corresponding commits. Users should upgrade to these fixed versions to resolve the problem. No additional mitigation is required once patched.
Description
A Linux kernel Bluetooth vulnerability was fixed by replacing skb_clone() with skb_get() for req_skb in the hci_core component. The issue caused intermittent Bluetooth enable failures with a timeout error (-ETIMEDOUT) due to memory allocation failure under pressure, which prevented command completion callbacks from being invoked. This led to a hang in synchronous HCI commands. The fix ensures that the reference count is incremented instead of cloning the buffer, preventing failure.
