A fix for this vulnerability is available and has been applied in several Linux kernel commits. Users should upgrade to a fixed kernel version that includes the patch ensuring all DAIF exceptions are masked during resume. No additional mitigation is required beyond applying the official fix.
Description
CVE-2026-93256 is a vulnerability in the arm64 hibernate code of the Linux kernel version 4.7. The issue arises because the kernel does not properly mask all DAIF exceptions during the resume process from hibernation, leading to potential crashes or warnings. Specifically, Debug, SError, or pseudo-NMI exceptions may occur while the kernel is in an inconsistent state during resume, which can cause fatal and silent failures.
