A fix has been implemented and merged into the Linux kernel. Users should update to the fixed kernel version 6.5 or later containing the referenced commits to resolve the issue. No additional mitigation steps are required beyond applying the official patch.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's tps6594 regulator driver caused device node reference leaks in a multiphase loop. The flaw involved missing release calls for device node references acquired during the loop, leading to resource leaks. Additionally, a missing NULL check after a node lookup could cause a NULL pointer dereference. The issue has been fixed by adding proper NULL checks and ensuring all node references are released at each loop iteration.
