A fix is available and has been applied in multiple Linux kernel commits identified by hashes such as dd5593aee0a0fb353e1164aff7b65e563fe1f232 and others. Users and administrators should update affected Linux kernel versions to these fixed commits or later versions incorporating these patches. No additional mitigation is required beyond applying the official fix.
Description
CVE-2026-93280 is a high-severity vulnerability in the Linux kernel's greybus audio subsystem. It involves improper bounds checking of topology section sizes against the fetched topology blob size. This flaw allows out-of-bounds reads during topology parsing, potentially leading to system compromise. The issue affects Linux kernel version 4.9. A fix has been implemented to reject topology data with inconsistent section sizes before parsing.
