Source: CVE Database V5
Vendor/Project: Grafana
Product: Grafana Enterprise

Description

A user with query access to an Azure Monitor data source can use its resource proxy to call Azure Resource Manager APIs beyond those Grafana needs, with the data source's Azure identity (unintended proxy). The impact is bounded by the Azure role granted to that identity.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-93294 in Grafana Enterprise allows a user with query access to an Azure Monitor data source to exploit the resource proxy to call Azure Resource Manager APIs beyond the intended scope. This occurs because the resource proxy uses the data source's Azure identity, which can be leveraged to perform unauthorized API calls. The extent of the impact is limited by the Azure role permissions granted to the identity. Multiple versions of Grafana Enterprise are affected, and a patch is available to fix this issue.

Potential Impact

An attacker with query access to an Azure Monitor data source in Grafana Enterprise can perform unauthorized Azure Resource Manager API calls using the data source's Azure identity. The impact is constrained by the permissions of the Azure role assigned to that identity. This could lead to unauthorized access or actions within the Azure environment depending on those permissions. There is no indication of active exploitation in the wild.

Mitigation Recommendations

A patch is available for this vulnerability. It is recommended to apply the official fix provided by Grafana to affected versions. Since this is a cloud service, the vendor manages remediation for the cloud-hosted service; users should verify with Grafana's advisory for the latest patch status and deployment instructions.
