Description

NetworkManager-l2tp versions up to 1.52.4 contain an input validation vulnerability that allows local users with VPN connection creation permissions to inject arbitrary pppd directives. By supplying mru or mtu property values with trailing non-numeric content, attackers can cause the privileged pppd process to load a malicious shared object, leading to arbitrary code execution as root. This vulnerability has a high severity score of 8.5 and requires local privileges to exploit.
