AI-suggested

Users should monitor the vendor's advisory for updates. Until a fix is available, restricting public access to booking session tokens or implementing web application firewall (WAF) rules to detect and block malicious input targeting the 'guests[][][documents]' parameter may reduce risk. Applying strict input validation and output encoding on affected parameters is recommended once a patch is released.

Description

The VikBooking Hotel Booking Engine & PMS WordPress plugin is affected by a stored cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the 'guests[][][documents]' parameter. This flaw exists in all versions up to and including 1.8.17 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. An unauthenticated attacker who can obtain a valid booking session token can inject malicious scripts that execute when users access the affected pages.
