A fix is available that adds an out-of-bound check before accessing the tid_data array in the iwlwifi driver. Users should apply the official Linux kernel updates that include this patch to remediate the vulnerability. Since this is a kernel-level issue, updating to a patched kernel version is the recommended mitigation.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's iwlwifi driver (CVE-2026-93790) involved an out-of-bounds access in the tid_data array during block acknowledgment notification processing. The issue was due to indexing tid_data by a loop counter instead of the actual TID value, potentially causing writes to unrelated memory slots. However, because multi-TID block acknowledgment is not commonly used, the impact was limited. A bounds check was added to prevent this out-of-bounds access.
