Technical Analysis

This vulnerability involves command injection via manipulation of the session_id parameter in the /send_order.cgi?parameter=loginout function of the Cookie Handler component in the Feiyu Star Router B-MB5E202-210322-r11656. Remote attackers can exploit this flaw to execute arbitrary commands on the device. The vendor has not issued a patch or advisory, and exploit code is publicly available.

Potential Impact

Successful exploitation allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands on the affected router, potentially leading to full control over the device. This can compromise network security and device integrity. However, the vulnerability is rated medium severity with CVSS 4.0 score 5.3, indicating moderate impact and exploitability.

Mitigation Recommendations

No official patch or remediation has been provided by the vendor. Users should consider isolating affected devices from untrusted networks and monitor for suspicious activity. Due to the availability of public exploit code and lack of vendor response, caution is advised until a fix is released.
