Technical Analysis

The TrueBooker WordPress plugin before version 1.3.0 contains a missing authorization vulnerability (CWE-862) in certain AJAX actions. This flaw allows unauthenticated attackers to bypass authorization controls and submit bookings with manipulated service prices without server-side validation. Attackers can also associate these bookings with arbitrary customer accounts, potentially leading to unauthorized booking creation and price manipulation.

Potential Impact

The vulnerability allows unauthenticated users to create bookings at prices of their choosing and attach them to any customer account. This could lead to financial discrepancies and unauthorized booking records. There is no indication of confidentiality or availability impact. The CVSS score is 5.3 (medium severity), reflecting limited impact primarily on integrity.

Mitigation Recommendations

No vendor advisory or patch information is provided. Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, restrict access to the affected AJAX endpoints if possible or disable the plugin if the vulnerability poses a risk.
