Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-9507 is a session fixation vulnerability in Enhancesoft osTicket version 1.18.2. The application fails to invalidate or regenerate the session identifier after user authentication, allowing an attacker who can set a known session ID in the victim's browser to maintain unauthorized access to the victim's account post-login. This vulnerability is classified under CWE-38 and has a CVSS 4.0 base score of 5.1 (medium severity). No official patch or remediation guidance is currently available from the vendor.

Potential Impact

An attacker can hijack a victim's authenticated session by fixing the session ID before login and maintaining access after the victim authenticates. This compromises account confidentiality and integrity by allowing unauthorized access to the victim's account.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, users should consider implementing additional session management controls such as regenerating session IDs after login and invalidating pre-authentication sessions as a temporary mitigation.
