Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-95344 is a race condition vulnerability in the DevTools feature of Google Chrome versions before 154.0.8037.57. Exploitation requires a remote attacker to leverage social engineering to convince a user to install a malicious Chrome extension. Successful exploitation can bypass Chrome's site isolation security mechanism, potentially weakening process-level separation of web content. The vulnerability is classified as medium severity by the Chromium security team. Google has published a stable channel update to fix this issue.

Potential Impact

The vulnerability allows bypassing of site isolation, which is a security feature designed to separate web content processes to prevent data leaks and cross-site attacks. Bypassing site isolation can reduce the effectiveness of Chrome's sandboxing and process separation, potentially exposing sensitive data or enabling further attacks. However, exploitation requires social engineering and user interaction to install a crafted extension. There are no known exploits in the wild at this time.

Mitigation Recommendations

Google has released an official stable channel update for Chrome that fixes this vulnerability. Users and administrators should update Chrome to version 154.0.8037.57 or later to remediate this issue. No additional mitigation steps are required beyond applying the official update.
