Users should restrict the 'Enable social group creation by all members' setting to administrators only to prevent exploitation. Monitor vendor advisories for an official patch or update. Until a fix is available, disabling group creation for non-administrators mitigates the risk.
Description
The BuddyBoss Platform WordPress plugin up to version 3.6.0 is vulnerable to stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) via the Group Name field. Authenticated users with subscriber-level access or higher can inject malicious scripts if the setting allowing all members to create social groups is enabled, which is the default configuration. This vulnerability arises from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping.
