AI-suggested
A fix has been implemented in the Linux kernel to clamp the buffer position during vBIOS updates in the drm/amdgpu driver. Users should apply the updated kernel versions that include this fix to mitigate the vulnerability. Patch status is confirmed resolved in the stated affected versions.
Description
A buffer overflow vulnerability in the Linux kernel's drm/amdgpu component during vBIOS update has been resolved by clamping the buffer position to prevent out-of-bounds access. This fix sets the bin attribute to the maximum buffer size so that the VFS layer blocks any out-of-bounds writes.
