Users and administrators should update to a Linux kernel version that includes these fixes, such as version 6.2 or later where this patch is included.

Description

CVE-2026-97428 is a high-severity vulnerability in the Linux kernel's AMDGPU driver. It involves out-of-bounds reads during FRU PIA data parsing due to unbounded TLV walking. The issue is fixed by replacing the open-coded TLV walk with bounded helper functions that limit reads to the actual EEPROM data length, preventing memory safety violations.
