A fix is available that prevents the out-of-bounds access by adding a check to avoid accessing the sbands array when the band is set to NUM_NL80211_BANDS. Users should apply the official kernel updates that include this fix. No additional mitigation is required.

Description

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's mac80211 WiFi subsystem could cause out-of-bounds memory access when handling monitor frames in NAN (Neighbor Awareness Networking) mode. This occurs because the band information is set to an invalid value, leading to an array access beyond its bounds. The issue has been fixed by preventing access when the band is set to this invalid value, which means some legacy rate information may not be reported in NAN mode.
