AI-suggested

A patch is available and has been applied in the Linux kernel commits 706e2bf330144995d123dccf32aaf1981ce5abc2 and 9ecc4d033879f7761f2df07e20cd2fbec00fd90b. Users should update to the fixed Linux kernel version 6.11 or later containing these commits to resolve the issue. Since this is a kernel-level fix, applying the official kernel update is the recommended remediation.

Description

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's s390/pai subsystem caused kernel crashes when CPUs were hotplugged during a perf stat command execution. The issue was due to missing per-CPU data structure allocation for newly added CPUs, leading to a NULL pointer dereference and kernel panic. The fix adds CPU hotplug support to properly allocate these data structures during CPU offline state, preventing crashes when CPUs are brought online.
