AI-suggested

A fix is available that flushes the work item with cancel_work_sync() after free_irq() releases the interrupt and before freeing the response queue and qpair memory. Users should apply the official Linux kernel patches that address this issue. No additional mitigations are indicated by the vendor advisory.

Description

CVE-2026-97536 is a use-after-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel's qla2xxx SCSI driver. It occurs during the teardown of a queue pair (qpair) when pending work is executed on freed memory, potentially leading to high-impact consequences. The flaw arises because work scheduled on a workqueue can run after the associated qpair and response queue memory have been freed. The issue is resolved by flushing the work item with cancel_work_sync() to ensure no work runs on freed memory.
