Description
CVE-2026-97577 is a high-severity vulnerability in the Linux kernel's media subsystem affecting the Verisilicon Rockchip AV1 video decoder. The flaw involves improper handling of AV1 frames that exceed the tile capacity, leading to out-of-bounds reads and potential hardware misconfiguration. This occurs because the decoder indexes tile group entries based on user-submitted counts without adequate bounds checking. The issue has been fixed by enforcing limits on the number of tiles processed, rejecting frames that exceed these limits.
