AI-suggested
A fix for this vulnerability has been implemented in the Linux kernel. Users should update to the fixed kernel versions corresponding to the commits referenced (e.g., 6028b543884f8735e057ec9eea4908cd61cab230 and others). No additional mitigation actions are indicated.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's io_uring/net subsystem involving improper buffer consumption when using the MSG_TRUNC flag with recv/recvmsg calls has been fixed. The issue caused io_uring to advance more of the buffer ring than was actually filled when the incoming packet was larger than the provided buffer. This could lead to incorrect buffer handling during network packet reception.
