Technical Analysis

This vulnerability affects the authentication subsystem of Secure Access servers from Absolute Security. Versions before 14.60 are vulnerable to an attack where a malformed authentication response can cause the server to enter a persistent denial of service state. The CVSS 4.0 base score is 8.2, indicating high severity. The attack requires network access but high attack complexity and no privileges or user interaction are needed. No known exploits are reported in the wild.

Potential Impact

Successful exploitation results in a persistent denial of service, disrupting availability of the Secure Access server's authentication service. This could prevent legitimate users from authenticating and accessing resources protected by the server.

Mitigation Recommendations

A fix is available in Secure Access version 14.60. Users should upgrade to version 14.60 or later to remediate this vulnerability. No additional mitigation guidance is provided.
