AI-suggested
A fix is available that limits the number of characters printed from the firmware log name field to the size of the fixed array, preventing out-of-bounds reads. Users should apply the official Linux kernel updates that include this fix for the affected versions. Since this is a kernel vulnerability, updating to patched kernel versions is the recommended remediation.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's accel/ivpu component allows unbounded printing of a firmware log name field that may not be properly NUL-terminated. This can cause the kernel to output adjacent memory bytes through dmesg and debugfs firmware log output, potentially exposing sensitive information. The issue is addressed by limiting the printed characters to the fixed size of the name field, preventing out-of-bounds reads.
