Description
CVE-2026-97937 is a use-after-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel's ftrace subsystem related to improper initialization of the function graph state during process forking. The flaw occurs because the child task's function graph state is not initialized before a fallible operation, leading to potential freeing of the parent's active function graph return stack and subsequent use-after-free memory access. This vulnerability has been fixed in specific Linux kernel commits.
