AI-suggested

A fix for this vulnerability has been implemented in the Linux kernel by correcting the FineIBT hash offset in cfi_get_func_hash(). Users should apply the updated kernel versions containing this fix. No alternative mitigations are indicated.

Description

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's x86 Control Flow Integrity (CFI) implementation related to FineIBT hash offset handling has been fixed. The issue was caused by an incorrect offset used in the cfi_get_func_hash() function, leading to a mismatch in the hash read from the FineIBT preamble. This caused the kernel to fail CFI checks and crash when making the first indirect call into a BPF struct_ops program, such as during TCP congestion control initialization. The fix aligns the offset definitions to ensure consistent hash reading.
