A fix has been implemented in the Linux kernel to address this issue by correctly limiting the scatterlist mapping size. Users should apply the updated kernel versions that include this fix. There is no indication that additional mitigation steps are required beyond applying the patch.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's RDS TCP implementation caused TCP stream corruption on systems with large page sizes. The issue arises because rds_message_map_pages() assigns PAGE_SIZE bytes to each scatterlist entry even when the total length ends in a partial page, leading to bytes beyond the congestion map being transmitted and corrupting the RDS stream. This was fixed by limiting the final scatterlist mapping to the remaining bytes, allowing RDS-TCP to function correctly on systems with page sizes larger than 8 KB.
