AI-suggested
A fix is available that zero-initializes the _md variable in vxlan_xmit_one(). Users should apply the vendor-provided patches or update to fixed kernel versions. Patch status is not explicitly confirmed in the input data; therefore, check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's VXLAN implementation (CVE-2026-97965) involves uninitialized stack memory being used when certain VXLAN device flags are set and specific tunnel options are missing. This can cause uninitialized kernel stack data to be leaked in the VXLAN header on the network. The issue is fixed by zero-initializing the relevant metadata structure.
