AI-suggested
Red Hat currently does not provide a mitigation or patch that meets their criteria for this vulnerability. Users should monitor Red Hat's advisory page for updates. Until a fix is available, restricting access to users with the 'manage-clients' role and closely auditing administrative actions may help reduce risk.
Description
CVE-2026-9797 is a moderate severity vulnerability in Red Hat's build of Keycloak affecting its administrative services. An attacker with the 'manage-clients' role can exploit this flaw to escalate privileges to 'realm-admin' by manipulating client configurations such as JSON Web Key Sets, swapping authenticator types, resetting secrets, or downloading signing keys. This escalation could lead to unauthorized access to sensitive resources within the Keycloak realm. No official patch or mitigation meeting Red Hat's criteria is currently available.
