AI-suggested

A fix is available and has been applied in Linux kernel versions 4.20, 5.5, and later. Users should upgrade to these or later kernel versions to remediate the vulnerability. No additional mitigation is required as the patch fully addresses the issue.

Description

A heap overflow vulnerability in the Linux kernel's cx82310_eth USB network driver was fixed. The flaw occurs when a URB with a 0xffff length sentinel bypasses the MTU check, causing an oversized copy into a fixed-size buffer. This leads to a heap overflow and delivery of malformed large frames to the network stack. The fix ensures that the reboot sentinel URB is dropped early, preventing partial data overflow.
