Description

CVE-2026-98062 is a vulnerability in the Linux kernel's BPF subsystem involving signal tracepoints. The issue arises because the signal tracepoint siginfo arguments are incorrectly treated as pointers when they can also be special scalar values. This can cause kernel faults and potentially kernel panic when dereferenced improperly, especially in interrupt context. The vulnerability has been fixed by marking these arguments as scalar rather than pointers to prevent unsafe dereferencing.
