A fix is available and has been applied in multiple commits to the Linux kernel. Users should update to a fixed kernel version that includes the referenced patches. No additional mitigation is required once the kernel is updated.
Description
CVE-2026-98064 is a vulnerability in the Linux kernel's BPF subsystem where a NULL pointer dereference occurs when displaying a void BTF type. This happens because the btf_modifier_show() function calls a show operation unconditionally, but the void type has no associated show operation, leading to a NULL pointer dereference and potential kernel crash. The issue is fixed by falling back to a default show function that handles unsupported types safely.
