A fix is available and has been applied in multiple Linux kernel commits following version 4.7. Users and administrators should upgrade to a Linux kernel version that includes these fixes to mitigate the vulnerability. No additional vendor advisory indicates alternative mitigations or workarounds.
Description
CVE-2026-98070 is a high-severity vulnerability in the Linux kernel's RDS (Reliable Datagram Sockets) networking subsystem. It involves improper synchronization in the rds_tcp_reset_callbacks() function, where the transmit path can run concurrently with a reset operation due to insufficient locking. This concurrency can lead to state corruption during socket reset handling. The issue affects Linux kernel version 4.7 and has been fixed in subsequent commits.
