AI-suggested

This vulnerability has been fixed in Linux kernel versions 4.15 and 4.17. Users should upgrade to these or later kernel versions to resolve the issue. No additional mitigation steps are required beyond applying the official fix.

Description

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's Btrfs filesystem related to quota accounting can cause kernel warnings and force the filesystem into read-only mode. This occurs due to improper handling of reloc root creation during qgroup_account_snapshot(), leading to references to metadata extents that no longer exist. The issue has been fixed in Linux kernel versions 4.15 and 4.17.
