Description
CVE-2026-98096 is a vulnerability in the Linux kernel's IPv6 Segment Routing (SR) implementation. It involves incorrect restoration of the network header before routing and forwarding when an extension header precedes the Segment Routing Header (SRH). This causes negative network offsets leading to broken flow dissection logic and potential out-of-bounds memory operations during packet forwarding. The issue is fixed by properly adjusting the skb->data pointer before routing. The vulnerability affects Linux kernel version 4.10 and has a CVSS score of 7.4 (high severity).
