AI-suggested

A fix has been implemented in the Linux kernel to prevent double migration of device-private folios by marking migrated folios and adjusting migration logic. Users should apply the official kernel updates that include these patches to resolve the issue. Patch status is confirmed as fixed in the referenced kernel versions. No additional mitigation actions are required beyond applying the updated kernel.

Description

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's drm/pagemap subsystem could cause a soft lockup and RCU stall due to double migration of device-private folios. This occurs when a device-private folio migrated to system memory remains reachable through the raw-PFN eviction path before migration finalization, allowing a second migration attempt that leaves an uncharged folio on an LRU list. The issue has been resolved by marking migrated folios to prevent double migration and adjusting migration paths accordingly.
