Description

CVE-2026-98141 is a vulnerability in the Linux kernel's NTFS implementation where the function update_reparse_data() does not properly propagate errors from set_reparse_index(). This causes symlink creation and WSL special file creation to report success even when the reparse data insertion fails, potentially leading to missing reparse data on disk. The issue has been resolved by ensuring the error is propagated to the caller.
