AI-suggested

This vulnerability has been fixed in the Linux kernel by removing the __counted_by annotation from the amdxdna_cmd_chain structure. Users should update to a kernel version that includes the fix identified by commits b3709d354545e70388177500761f92d906c4dfd6, 93fa3e925b15b0ded0a549fe7f12bfbb1c4e171a, or 52f3e086760a9a3e02a46a10b57caffd73b1c204. No additional mitigation is required beyond applying the official fix.

Description

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's accel/amdxdna component involved the use of __counted_by annotation on a flexible array within the amdxdna_cmd_chain structure. This annotation relied on a userspace-controlled command_count value, which could be concurrently modified, potentially causing a kernel panic due to a failed bounds check. The issue has been resolved by removing the __counted_by annotation to prevent reliance on the mutable command_count for bounds checking.
