A fix is available and has been applied to the affected Linux kernel versions. Users should update to patched versions of the linux-hwe-edge kernel to remediate this vulnerability. Since this is a kernel-level fix, applying the official kernel updates from the vendor is the recommended mitigation.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's drm/virtio component affects Xen paravirtualized (PV) domains. The issue arises because the virtio-gpu driver incorrectly uses guest-physical addresses for framebuffer backing pages, which on a PV domain host side map to unrelated memory belonging to other domains. This can cause the host to scan out unrelated memory. The flaw is fixed by adjusting the decision logic to correctly use the DMA API for resource backing on Xen PV domains. The vulnerability affects specific Linux kernel versions used in the linux-hwe-edge product line.
