Description
CVE-2026-98163 is a high-severity vulnerability in the Linux kernel cgroup subsystem involving iteration over dying tasks with zero reference count. The flaw arises from a race condition where iterators may access task structures that are in the process of being freed, leading to potential use-after-free scenarios. The issue was addressed by adding checks to skip tasks with zero usage count during iteration, preventing resurrection of tasks that are about to be freed.
