AI-suggested

A fix has been applied in the Linux kernel to check for the presence of the full MIC before verification and to use consistent MIC length constants. Users should update to the fixed kernel versions once available. No additional mitigation steps are indicated.

Description

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's libipw component related to TKIP frame processing has been fixed. The issue involved the libipw_michael_mic_verify() function incorrectly assuming the presence of a full eight-byte Michael MIC in TKIP frames. This could cause out-of-bounds reads when processing short TKIP frames lacking a full MIC.
