Description
CVE-2026-98214 is a Linux kernel vulnerability involving SELinux and the mprotect() system call. The flaw allows mprotect() to bypass SELinux checks on intermediate backing files in nested stacked filesystems, unlike mmap() which checks all layers. This can lead to unauthorized execution permissions being granted when using mprotect(PROT_EXEC) after mmap(PROT_NONE). The issue affects certain Linux kernel versions and has been fixed in later releases.
