A fix is available and has been applied in the Linux kernel. Users and administrators should update to the fixed kernel versions identified by the commits listed in establishedFacts.fixedVersions to remediate this issue.

Description

A use-after-free vulnerability was identified and fixed in the Linux kernel's i2c atr driver. The issue occurs when i2c_atr_add_adapter() stores a pointer before i2c_add_adapter() completes, and on failure, the pointer remains dangling, leading to potential use-after-free in cleanup routines. This flaw could also block reuse of the adapter slot with an error. The fix clears the pointer slot on error before freeing the channel to prevent dangling references.
