Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-9822 is an improper access control vulnerability in the WP Hotel Booking WordPress plugin versions prior to 2.3.1. The plugin fails to enforce capability checks in multiple AJAX handlers, allowing users with minimal privileges (Subscriber-level) to access sensitive information such as other users' booking details, active coupons, and pricing information. This vulnerability does not require user interaction and has a network attack vector with low attack complexity. The impact is limited to confidentiality, with no integrity or availability impact reported. No official fix or patch has been documented at this time.

Potential Impact

Authenticated users with Subscriber-level privileges can read sensitive data belonging to other users, including booking line items, active coupons, and pricing information. This compromises confidentiality but does not affect integrity or availability. There are no known exploits in the wild currently.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until an official fix is released, restrict Subscriber-level access where possible and monitor for plugin updates addressing this issue.
