A fix is available and has been applied in the Linux kernel. Users should update to a kernel version that includes the fix identified by the commits listed in establishedFacts.fixedVersions. No additional mitigation is required once the patch is applied.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's mhi_wwan_mbim driver allows a cyclic NDP chain to cause an infinite loop in packet processing, leading to a CPU spin at 100%. This occurs because the NDP traversal loop does not advance offsets properly, allowing a modem to point an NDP at itself or an earlier NDP. The issue has been fixed by adding a check to break the loop when the next NDP offset is not larger than the current one.
